The circus is in town

Pirate

We made the right decision to get you outta there. Oh they know about you. May even call you. But at least they didn't have you sitting in the station for hours.

They didn't like the fact that you flew out before I rang it in.

I told them that it was nothing to do with you. And given the treatment I was getting I was glad we had got you outta there.

I keep referring to it as the skeleton in the closet. The chuckle brothers they've assigned to it don't find that funny. I do. So I keep using it.

You know right now I can't be bothered thinking of names for them. Thick ****s. Like I'd call in a body I put there. And one likely to have been there since before I was born.

Anyway I handed over the keys and was packed off to the station. Within the hour they had it all taped off and CSI all over it. Found that out from Neighbour Chet. The old man's okay. He's been keeping an eye on the circus.

I'm not allowed in the house - obviously. But I can sit on the porch with Chet and drink coffee. The chuckle brothers don't like that. So we stay there longer and move on to beers if they object.

Dumb f***s. Shouting. Barking orders. I don't reckon they'll solve anything unless it runs up their asses. Maybe not even then.

They've emptied the workshop. Not found the metal box in the cellar though.

They finally removed the body. News is he only had one full leg. Other was off at the knee. Great-uncle Bojo then. I made a few calls. Usually autopsies take a week - maybe longer - no rush on a skeleton. But if it's old then it'll go to a specialist. So in theory quicker than a fresh one. Maybe. They'll let me know when they know more.

Meantime Neighbour Chet has been telling me more about the grandparents. He repeated what he told you. He was worried he was insulting my family. I told him not to sweat it. They were all gone now - except dad. But it wasn't dad he wanted to talk about.

I do like to keep my cards close. Sometimes. But sometimes it is worth giving out some info. Just a bit. Now was one of those times. I told Chet about the skeleton. I told him who we thought it was.

And that's when he told me about the fight in the yard.

The last time he saw Great-uncle Bojo alive.
